Antonelli hopes to race in GT3 with his father, inspired by Verstappen

Kimi Antonelli hopes to fulfil his father’s dream of racing together in GT3, and expects an opportunity early or midway through next year. The Mercedes driver says Max Verstappen’s GT outings have inspired him.

In an interview with Auto, Motor und Sport, Antonelli said finding time was the main challenge. He has already tested his father’s GT3 car and said he drove for his father’s team three years ago, but that they have never raced as teammates. They want to do that in GT3, he said.

Verstappen has taken part in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring and recently made his GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup debut at Portimão. Antonelli says Verstappen helps make GT racing better known and show people how fascinating it is.
