Alonso auctions passenger-seat hot laps at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Fernando Alonso is auctioning a passenger-seat experience at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The winning bidder will sit alongside the two-time Formula 1 champion for around two hot laps on 16 December. The experience is part of JOOPITER’s *The Modern Grid: An Auction of F1 Memorabilia*, which runs from 7 to 20 October; a portion of the proceeds will go to Fundación Fernando Alonso.

The winner will be briefed on the day’s schedule before changing into an Adidas race suit and Bell helmet. The ride will take place in Alonso’s Aston Martin DTM car or a similar vehicle. Alonso and the passenger can talk over an intercom while an onboard camera films the laps; the winner can take the footage home on a personalised USB drive and keep the suit Alonso signs.

Alonso told JOOPITER that his passion for Formula 1 remains unchanged after more than 20 years in the sport. He described the experience as a chance to let a fellow fan feel the g-forces and acceleration up close while supporting a cause important to him.
