After a precautionary examination, Bottas was released from the medical centre and was doing well, Cadillac said. He was excused from all post-race media duties.

Cadillac said Valtteri Bottas had been discharged from the medical centre after his crash at the Mexican Grand Prix. The Finn had undergone a precautionary examination; the team said he was doing well and had excused him from all post-race media duties, including interviews in the TV pen and with the print media.

The front suspension on Bottas's car broke; he lost control and hit the wall at speed, bringing out a red flag. He got out of the car under his own power, but went to the medical centre because of the impact. Cadillac said it would investigate the incident in the coming days.
