Permane says Racing Bulls' fight for fifth is less tight than he had previously suggested, but he remains wary of São Paulo's weather.

Racing Bulls has a “decent buffer” in the fight for fifth, Alan Permane said, although he now considers the contest less tight than he had previously described it. He wants to build on that advantage, but was cautious about the São Paulo Grand Prix: given the weather, “anything is possible,” he said on Friday.

Asked about his new long-term Racing Bulls contract through 2031, Permane called it a source of stability for himself and the team. He said he wants to remain with the team and help lead it alongside Peter Bayer.
