Mercedes has turned Kimi Antonelli’s Austin reversing mishap into a title joke: its TikTok video shows the championship leader backing a Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé into a wooden fence, with the caption “Championship leader BTW.”

Antonelli misjudged the space as he reversed the electric car; the clip also shows George Russell’s immediate reaction.

On track, Antonelli won the United States Grand Prix in Austin, his ninth grand prix victory of the season. But Lewis Hamilton’s fourth place and Russell’s eighth meant the championship fight continued to Mexico.
