Norris says São Paulo win let him reward McLaren’s hard work

Lando Norris said his São Paulo Grand Prix win gave him a chance to reward McLaren’s hard work after recent weeks when he felt unable to deliver a good result for the team. He thanked McLaren and said he and the team had to keep pushing together until the end of the year.

The victory was Norris and McLaren’s third of 2026. Norris started from pole on a damp track but lost places to Kimi Antonelli and Liam Lawson before recovering to second. As the surface dried, he was among the first to switch from intermediate tyres to slicks. Antonelli’s spin opened the way for Norris to retake the lead; he held on through more rain and another round of pit stops, finishing more than 14 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen.
