The FIA stewards fined Mercedes €5,000 after George Russell missed mandatory post-race media commitments; he also did not attend the subsequent hearing.
Mercedes was fined €5,000 after George Russell missed mandatory post-race media commitments at the Mexico Grand Prix. The stewards ruled that his absence breached Article B10.1.4e of the FIA F1 Regulations.
Russell did not attend the stewards' hearing either. A Mercedes representative gave evidence by telephone, saying Russell had left the circuit.
Mercedes had told the media after the race that Russell would skip interviews and respond later through the team's official channels. A RacingNews365 update said he still had to report to the stewards and that the matter could have further consequences; the stewards fined Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, not Russell.
