Verstappen calls Antonelli’s second-season title very special

After winning in Mexico, Max Verstappen praised Kimi Antonelli’s achievement in winning the world title in his second F1 season. Verstappen said he would continue to Brazil rather than join the celebrations.

After winning the Mexico Grand Prix, Max Verstappen praised Kimi Antonelli, whose third place secured the 2026 Formula 1 world title. He said it was “very special” for Antonelli to achieve that in only his second F1 season.

Asked by Viaplay whether he would join the celebrations, Verstappen replied: “No, I’m going on to Brazil.” He added that Antonelli had enough people around him to have a good party.
