After the Mexico City clash with Charles Leclerc, Hamilton said he had experienced worse teammate tensions at Mercedes, while adding that he saw no huge differences. He said Fred was doing his best and wanted both drivers to succeed.

Lewis Hamilton said the tension he had experienced with teammates at Mercedes was worse than the current situation with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari, while adding that he did not see huge differences. Hamilton said Fred was doing his best and wanted both drivers to do well.

He made the comparison after Sunday's Mexico City Grand Prix. Leclerc challenged Hamilton for the lead on the opening lap, and both drivers ran off the circuit. Max Verstappen capitalised on the moment to pass Hamilton, later moved ahead of Leclerc and went on to win.

Hamilton said the situation at Mercedes had been managed well and that Fred had spoken to him before the race. He had also called Leclerc's move unnecessary after the race. Hamilton said he did not know what would be done, adding that nothing had been done up to then.
