Gabriel Bortoleto pranked Audi teammate Nico Hülkenberg in front of thousands of fans at the Circuit of the Americas on Friday, pulling down the German’s trousers as the pair walked out. Hülkenberg laughed, straightened his clothes and took the joke in good humour as the crowd cheered.
Videos of the moment went viral. Bortoleto was set to start Sunday’s United States Grand Prix from the back of the grid after Audi exceeded his power-unit component allocation.
