The stewards said Câmara had been warned repeatedly about Leclerc's fast lap; they gave the Haas rookie a reprimand rather than the usual warning for impeding in free practice.

Rafael Câmara has been reprimanded after the stewards judged that his movements on the racing line created a clearly dangerous situation for Charles Leclerc during Free Practice 2 at the São Paulo Grand Prix.

Leclerc was on a flying lap in Interlagos’ final sector, where Câmara’s Haas was on the racing line. At high speed, Leclerc was squeezed towards the outside wall and had to move right to avoid a collision. A significant part of the Ferrari went off track, but the car escaped without damage.

The stewards said Câmara had received multiple radio warnings that Leclerc was approaching on a fast lap. They found that he was weaving and moving well into the racing line, and said he should have taken more care to avoid impeding Leclerc.

The stewards said the usual penalty for impeding in free practice is a warning, but judged a reprimand warranted in this case.
