At the 6–8 November 2026 São Paulo Grand Prix, competitors will receive a Safety Car deployment message and trackside panels will show SC; waved yellow flags and SC boards will not be used. The race director also specifies the withdrawal signals.

At the 6–8 November 2026 São Paulo Grand Prix, a Safety Car will not be signalled with waved yellow flags or “SC” boards. The FIA race director’s competition notes instead call for a “SAFETY CAR DEPLOYED” message to be sent to every competitor and “SC” to appear on all trackside light panels. The notes say the procedure is intended to give competitors consistent information about a deployment.

The withdrawal procedure is also specified. When the instruction is given to extinguish the Safety Car’s orange lights, every competitor will receive “SAFETY CAR LIGHTS OFF”. As the leader approaches the Control Line, a green panel will appear there and all other trackside panels will stop displaying “SC”.
