George Russell and Kimi Antonelli’s fourth and fifth places secured Mercedes’ first constructors’ title since 2021. Wolff said he was already considering what the team could do for Las Vegas and 2027.
George Russell and Kimi Antonelli finished fourth and fifth in São Paulo, securing Mercedes’ first constructors’ title since 2021. The trackside team celebrated on the podium, but Toto Wolff said he was already asking why Mercedes had underperformed in the race.
Speaking to F1 TV after the race, Wolff said he was considering what Mercedes could do for Las Vegas and the 2027 season. He described his immediate focus on the team’s performance rather than celebration as part of his character.
Mercedes’ ninth Constructors’ Championship puts it level with Williams; only Ferrari (16) and McLaren (10) have won more. Wolff said reaching the same tally as Frank Williams, with whom he had a close relationship, was remarkable. He also praised the work of Mercedes’ team at the track and its factories in Brackley and Brixworth.
