Mekies praises Red Bull’s start work after Verstappen’s Mexico win

Max Verstappen’s good starts helped him take his third win of the season in Mexico, and Laurent Mekies credited the progress to work by Red Bull staff at Milton Keynes.

Verstappen kept his composure in the opening fight between the Ferraris and took second. After the red-flag restart, he got away well again, kept Lewis Hamilton behind and went on to win.

Mekies said the team had worked hard to improve its starts with the equipment available this season. He said the progress was visible under pressure in Mexico, where the race featured multiple starts and a long straight to Turn 1.

He praised the cooperation between departments and said he was proud of how the staff had delivered the best possible result that day.
