Verstappen says he understands Hadjar’s reaction after Mexico fan incident

Max Verstappen says he understands why Isack Hadjar pushed a fan aside in Mexico after the fan kept bothering him for an unsolicited selfie. The stewards gave Hadjar an official warning, but no fine or sporting penalty.

Speaking to media including RacingNews365, Verstappen said it is unpleasant when someone touches or tries to grab you. He said he had never pushed a fan himself, though such situations often come close. He described his view as personal and noted that a driver in that situation still has to go to the stewards.

Verstappen said he often enters the paddock through a back entrance to avoid people. He acknowledged that this is disappointing for fans who behave respectfully.
