Tsolov is in a three-for-two contest for Racing Bulls’ 2027 seats alongside Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad; Isack Hadjar is already confirmed at Red Bull.
Nikola Tsolov’s place in the Mexico FP1 line-up has sharpened attention on Racing Bulls’ 2027 driver choice. The Formula 2 frontrunner has already logged F1 mileage through TPC running at Imola; team principal Alan Permane said several weeks earlier that Tsolov was in contention in a three-for-two scenario.
Isack Hadjar is confirmed alongside Max Verstappen at Red Bull. At Racing Bulls, Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad are also in the frame with Tsolov. Lindblad has impressed as the only rookie on the 2026 grid and says he is focused on his season, not the seat decision. Lawson has regularly made Q3 and scored points for Racing Bulls, and did a solid job when he replaced the injured Hadjar at Red Bull.
Lawson says he is focusing on points rather than the seat decision. He recalled that in 2025 the question occupied his thoughts and made him overthink. He described Racing Bulls’ second half of 2026 as particularly strong, while noting that consistency in F1 is difficult and that there are things to tidy up. If he is not driving in 2027, he says, he would feel he could have done little more.
