Lewis Hamilton is set to make his 400th Grand Prix appearance at São Paulo with F1 records for wins, poles and podiums; his seven world titles are a joint record with Michael Schumacher.
At the São Paulo Grand Prix this weekend, Lewis Hamilton is set to make his 400th Grand Prix appearance in his 20th Formula 1 season. His 106 victories and 105 pole positions are F1 records, while his seven world championships put him level with Michael Schumacher.
Hamilton's first title came at the 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix, a year after he narrowly missed the championship as a McLaren rookie. He won six more titles during his Mercedes spell after leaving McLaren ahead of 2013; his 84 victories for Mercedes are the most any driver has scored with one constructor.
Hamilton's first victory came in Canada in 2007. His maiden Ferrari win at the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix extended the gap between his first and latest wins to 19 years and four days, a record. At the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix, he claimed his 105th pole by edging George Russell by 0.009 seconds. The span between his first and latest poles reached 19 years, four months and 22 days, another F1 record.
His record run of at least one Grand Prix podium in 18 consecutive seasons, from 2007 through 2024, ended in his first Ferrari year, 2025; he returned to the podium in 2026. His second place at the Mexico City Grand Prix that year was his 209th podium, the most in F1 history.
