McLaren plans front- and rear-wing updates and floor components for São Paulo to improve performance in the remaining 2026 races. The team expects its new front-wing concept to carry into the launch specification of its 2027 car.
McLaren plans to bring front- and rear-wing updates and changes to floor components to this weekend’s São Paulo Grand Prix. Peter Prodromou, the team’s chief technical officer for aerodynamics, said the package is intended to improve performance in the remaining races of 2026 and help McLaren close ground at the front.
McLaren says it is 17 points behind Red Bull in the fight for third in the constructors’ championship after the Mexico City Grand Prix.
Prodromou said what the team learns from the updates will feed into development for 2027. McLaren expects to carry the concept of its new front wing into the launch specification of the 2027 car.
