Arvid Lindblad retired from an F1 race for the first time after a late collision with Oscar Piastri in Mexico City. Piastri claimed Lindblad moved under braking; the stewards opted to investigate.

Arvid Lindblad suffered his first in-race retirement in Formula 1 on lap 59 of the Mexico City Grand Prix, after a collision with Oscar Piastri. Lindblad was running seventh and holding off the McLaren driver.

Piastri attempted to pass around the outside into Turn 1. He claimed Lindblad moved under braking on the approach, forcing him to attack to Lindblad’s left.

On the short run to Turn 2 after the corner, Piastri’s front-right wheel caught the left-rear of Lindblad’s VCARB03. The contact sent Lindblad’s car into the air and across the circuit into a barrier opposite Turn 2. The stewards opted to investigate the incident.

After a handful of laps, racing resumed with Max Verstappen leading Lewis Hamilton.
