The FIA stewards imposed a 10-second post-race time penalty on Oscar Piastri after his collision with Arvid Lindblad at the entry to Turn 2 in the Mexico City Grand Prix.

The stewards cited a breach of Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2(d) of the FIA International Sporting Code. They said Piastri was never fully alongside Lindblad on the approach to Turn 1 and therefore could not claim the corner.

The stewards also said Lindblad did not force Piastri off track and was not required to leave room on the outside. They concluded the collision could have been avoided if Piastri had moved further left after Turn 1, even if that meant leaving the track before Turn 2. The document notes that certain stewards' decisions may be appealed within applicable time limits, but does not give an appeal status or a revised classification.
