Isack Hadjar says his recent results have not matched the RB22’s potential, a gap he finds frustrating. He said he could not get into the top five in the last couple of races. Separately, he said that, except for Malaysia, there had always been “something happening on Sunday.”

The RB22 has been capable of winning races with Max Verstappen, but Hadjar’s own race weekends have repeatedly been disrupted by mechanical and electronic problems. Those setbacks included a gearbox failure in Singapore and a late battery issue in Malaysia that cost him a likely podium.

Ahead of the São Paulo Grand Prix, Hadjar said he considered his pace decent and expected his form to come together in time. He wanted to keep pushing and stay sharp, because the conditions at Interlagos could bring anything.
