Antonelli has secured the drivers’ title, but constructors’ positions still affect prize payouts and next year’s wind-tunnel and CFD allowances. McLaren trails Red Bull by 17 points, while Lawson’s late-season form may influence the two 2027 Racing Bulls seats.

Even with Kimi Antonelli’s drivers’ title settled, Formula 1’s final four Grands Prix still shape teams’ prize money and the wind-tunnel and CFD capacity they will have in 2027. Results may also influence Red Bull’s choice of its two Racing Bulls drivers for next season.

Mercedes has a 126-point lead over Ferrari in the constructors’ standings, 630 to 504, making that title look all but settled. The tighter contest is for third: Red Bull has 382 points and McLaren 365, a 17-point gap with four races left.

The finishing order sets next year’s wind-tunnel and CFD allowance. The constructors’ champion receives 70% of the baseline capacity, while teams in 10th and 11th may use up to 115%. A change of one place shifts the allowance by five percentage points. RB, Alpine and Haas are fighting for fifth through seventh, so the order will also shape their 2027 development capacity.

A place in the final constructors’ standings can also mean roughly $8 million to $12 million in prize money. Under the current Concorde Agreement, the constructors’ champion receives about 14% of the total pool, with the share falling towards 6% for the team at the bottom of the standings.

Lawson has 83 points for RB and is trying to prove himself for one of the two 2027 Racing Bulls seats. Red Bull has not yet chosen between him, Arvid Lindblad and junior Nikola Tsolov. Strong late-season races from Lawson or Lindblad will count in that decision.
