Charles Leclerc says Ferrari needs to find more pace after a difficult FP2 and expects significant changes to the car ahead of the São Paulo Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc expects Ferrari to make significant changes to its car after a difficult FP2 on Friday ahead of the São Paulo Grand Prix. He said Ferrari's raw pace was not great.

Leclerc said the car did not feel right in FP2 and that he had rarely felt worse in it this year. He had missed the opening practice, when rookie Dino Beganovic drove in his place, but said he did not think the session had shown much performance.

Back in the car for FP2, Leclerc finished seventh, seven tenths behind Kimi Antonelli's fastest time. He said he had ideas for changes and hoped the work would help Ferrari take a step forward.

Ferrari had shown stronger pace in Mexico the previous weekend, where Lewis Hamilton took pole and finished second and Leclerc was fourth. In São Paulo, the team appeared to lack the outright speed of Mercedes and McLaren.
