Verstappen said the RB22’s steering needed attention before qualifying, though he described the problem as not serious.

Max Verstappen says Red Bull must resolve steering problems on his RB22 before qualifying in Brazil, although he described them as not serious.

The steering had already troubled him in first practice, when he called it a “workout”. It drew little discussion in the second session, but Verstappen said afterward that the car still had steering problems.

The issue did not prevent him from setting the third-fastest time in the qualifying simulation. He completed 52 laps at Interlagos and judged the day “pretty good” overall.

In a Red Bull statement, Verstappen said the team had refined the car and focused on understanding tyre behaviour over long runs.
