Ferrari says Leclerc will resume track activities Friday after daughter’s birth

Charles Leclerc will miss Thursday’s media day at the São Paulo Grand Prix after staying behind for the birth of his daughter, Bianca. Ferrari said he had been excused from that day’s media activities and would resume regular track activities on Friday morning.

Leclerc stayed behind to be present for the arrival of his first child with partner Alexandra and was travelling to Brazil on Thursday. Dino Beganovic was set to replace him in first practice, as part of the requirement for a rookie to take part in four FP1 sessions during a season.
