Vasseur accused Hamilton and Leclerc of showing Ferrari a lack of respect after the Mexico City GP clash and said he wanted to discuss the incident with both drivers.
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur accused Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc of showing the team a “lack of respect” after their Mexico City Grand Prix clash. He said he found it hard to accept that Ferrari had thrown away a win.
Hamilton started on pole and was ahead on the run to Turn 4. Leclerc tried to go around the outside; both cars ran off track and Leclerc emerged ahead. The stewards gave him a five-second penalty for gaining a lasting advantage. Verstappen got ahead through the pit stops as Leclerc served the penalty, then held off Hamilton to win. Hamilton finished second and Leclerc fourth.
Vasseur told Canal+ that he saw the incident as disrespect toward Ferrari’s brand and the people working for the team. Asked whether he was targeting Leclerc, he said he had not singled anyone out. He also said Hamilton had run very wide and that he wanted to speak with both drivers.
