During his first grand prix weekend, Nikola Tsolov said a tight seat cut off blood flow to his right leg in Mexico FP1, leaving him unable to feel his legs. He said he got out of the car and feeling returned after two or three minutes.

During first practice for the Mexico City Grand Prix, Nikola Tsolov said he lost feeling in his legs and had to get out of his Racing Bulls car. He attributed the episode to a seat that pressed too tightly against his right leg and stopped blood flow.

Tsolov said the same problem had happened several times in F2. At full throttle, he explained, he moved up into the seat and his legs were compressed. He said the tingling progressed to numbness; after getting out and shaking it out, feeling returned after two or three minutes.

The Friday outing was Tsolov’s first appearance at a grand prix weekend. He was standing in for Liam Lawson at Racing Bulls while seeking to convince the team to give him a full-time drive next year.
