After his third win in four races, the Red Bull driver says recent weekends looked more promising as the season enters its final rounds.

Max Verstappen says he did not expect to win three Formula 1 races in 2026. Ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, he described recent race weekends as much more promising and called the results a major step in the right direction with the season's final races approaching.

His Mexico victory was his third of the season and third in four races. A time penalty for Charles Leclerc put Verstappen into the lead, which he held for the rest of the race.

Brazil also has personal meaning for Verstappen: he says his in-laws live there. He has won at Interlagos in 2019, 2023 and 2024, and hopes Red Bull can put together another strong weekend.
