With heavy rain forecast for Brazil, Verstappen said he was not worried about a repeat of Malaysia's software problems. He joked that he had installed an antivirus in his car.

Asked ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix whether he feared another rain-related software problem, Max Verstappen joked that he had installed an “antivirus” in his car and said he was not worried.

The concern followed the formation lap in Malaysia, when several cars stopped in torrential rain because of software problems. With heavy rain forecast for Brazil, drivers were asked whether they feared a repeat.

Verstappen then turned more serious. He noted that the final corner climbs uphill and said a problem there could leave them far beyond the circuit. He thought the Malaysia problems had been properly understood and hoped they were now resolved.

He also carried the joke over to Arvid Lindblad, who was beside him at the press conference, saying Lindblad’s car ran on the same software and he need not worry.
