Franco Colapinto praised Kimi Antonelli’s race-by-race consistency after the Italian clinched the 2026 Formula 1 title with third place at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Antonelli became the youngest world champion in the sport’s history.

Antonelli shared the podium with race winner Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Colapinto summed up the setting: “Can't get any better than World Champion between the two best champions in the last era of F1.”

Colapinto said Antonelli’s speed was already evident, but his repeated podiums, points and lack of mistakes were what impressed him. He also pointed to the weight of leading the championship for so long. Colapinto called the achievement “the dream of all of us” and said Antonelli deserved to enjoy it.
