Sixty additional places were confirmed for Gabriel Bortoleto on Saturday, taking his United States Grand Prix power-unit penalty to 80 and leaving him due to start from the back.

Gabriel Bortoleto was due to start the United States Grand Prix from the back of the grid after his power-unit penalty climbed to 80 places. The total included 60 additional places confirmed on Saturday, on top of an initial 20.

Audi’s initial changes to Bortoleto’s car included a fourth energy store and a fourth control-electronics unit. Saturday’s further changes brought a fifth internal-combustion engine, fifth turbocharger and fifth exhaust set, along with a fourth MGU-K, a seventh power-unit ancillary component, a fifth energy store and a fifth control-electronics unit.

Power-unit penalties for exceeding a component allocation accumulate at the same event. A total greater than 15 places sends a driver to the back of the field.
