Rosberg criticised Leclerc’s line through Turns 2 and 3 and urged Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur to set clearer rules.
Nico Rosberg said Charles Leclerc went too far in his first-lap duel with Lewis Hamilton at the Mexico Grand Prix. He pointed to their exchange through Turns 2 and 3 and said Leclerc had not held his line.
Hamilton had started from pole and was defending against Leclerc. At Turn 4, both drivers went off track; Leclerc took the lead through the grass, while Hamilton dropped behind Max Verstappen. Leclerc received a five-second penalty.
Asked about working with Hamilton, Rosberg remarked that it was striking how often blame fell on Leclerc rather than Hamilton, citing Monza and Mexico; he said he could not remember other situations.
Rosberg called on Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur to set clear rules for the pair. He said two number-one drivers could work if Ferrari agreed in advance what was acceptable in different situations; without that preparation, he warned, the problem could recur.
