Antonelli visits Senna family ahead of Brazilian Grand Prix

Kimi Antonelli spent time with Ayrton Senna’s family ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, a visit with special meaning for the newly crowned world champion. His father, Marco, accompanied him as he met Senna’s nephew Bruno and nieces Bianca and Paula. Antonelli grew up hearing stories about the three-time world champion and has long regarded him as an idol and inspiration.

That admiration reaches the track: Antonelli races with No. 12, a number Senna also used during part of his career. He will keep it next year as a continuing tribute.

Antonelli shared an Instagram photo of himself in the Lotus 98T Senna drove to victories at the 1986 Spanish and Detroit Grands Prix. In his post about the visit, Antonelli described the day as unforgettable and said he would carry the memories with him for life.

Paula Senna described receiving the new champion as a special moment. She said he received one of her sculptures of Ayrton to celebrate his title.
