Verstappen and Hamilton shared the highest rating, with a 9 each; Antonelli, Hirakawa and Lawson scored 8.5, while Stroll received the lowest mark at 4.5.

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton shared the highest rating in RacingNews365’s assessment of the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix, both receiving a 9. Verstappen started fifth after a grid penalty; Hamilton topped qualifying before finishing second.

RacingNews365 praised Verstappen’s use of the only medium-tyre strategy among the front-runners and the timing of his pit stop. He also benefited from the opening-lap chaos between the Ferraris on the way to his third victory of the season. Hamilton was hindered by an opening-lap tussle with his team-mate, but kept Verstappen under pressure for much of the race.

Antonelli, Hirakawa and Lawson were next on 8.5. Antonelli’s restart pass on Charles Leclerc into Turn 1 secured third, a result that clinched his maiden world title. Hirakawa was promoted to 10th after post-race steward deliberations and scored points on his Haas debut. Lawson recovered to the points from a pit-lane start after his qualifying disqualification for unapproved parc-fermé changes.

Colapinto and Gasly received 5.5 and 5 after yellow-flag penalties cost them points; Piastri also scored 5 after a late collision with Arvid Lindblad brought a 10-second penalty. Stroll was last on 4.5. He retired on Lap 7, and RacingNews365 said the team had not immediately disclosed the cause.
