Wolff says he would step aside for an executive-chairman role if he felt someone else could do the job better, but wants to continue in his current position.
After Kimi Antonelli clinched the world title at the Mexico City Grand Prix, Toto Wolff said he assesses every day whether he is contributing to Mercedes’ development.
If he felt his contribution was not good enough, or that someone else could do the job better, he said he would step aside and become executive chairman. Wolff also said he wants to continue in his current role and does not plan to call it a day.
Wolff said Bradley Lord is taking many tasks off his hands, and praised Lord as more diligent and structured than himself. Looking further ahead, he expects Mercedes’ leadership roles to be split a few years from now.
