Norris on pole as penalties reshape São Paulo grid; Hamilton 20th, Verstappen 21st

Penalties have reshaped the São Paulo Grand Prix grid: Lando Norris retains pole ahead of Kimi Antonelli and Liam Lawson, while Lewis Hamilton starts 20th, Max Verstappen 21st and Sergio Pérez 22nd.

Verstappen chose to end qualifying after Q1 once he had beaten Pérez; Hamilton had finished ahead of him in the session.

Antonelli moves up from third in qualifying to second on the grid. George Russell, second in qualifying, drops to seventh after a five-place penalty. Lawson and Nico Hülkenberg occupy the second row, while Charles Leclerc falls from fourth in qualifying to 14th under his penalty.

The FIA announced that Arvid Lindblad and Gabriel Bortoleto were using new engine components, bringing each a 10-place grid penalty. Lindblad starts 18th and Bortoleto 19th.
