Button backs Lawson for Racing Bulls if points are the priority

Jenson Button says Racing Bulls should keep Liam Lawson if scoring points is the team's immediate priority, with Lawson's future at the team still unresolved.

Nikola Tsolov, second in the Formula 2 standings, took over Lawson's car in first practice in Mexico as part of Racing Bulls' evaluation process. Button credited Tsolov with doing an amazing job and producing moments of brilliance, while also noting inconsistency over the years.

Button described Lawson's season as very good and consistent. He said Racing Bulls knew what it was getting with Lawson, whereas with Tsolov the team did not.
