Peter Bayer says bringing new drivers into Formula 1 is part of Racing Bulls' role, while Alan Permane will decide the 2027 line-up. Bayer also says Liam Lawson has done everything to prove himself.
Racing Bulls still has to settle its 2027 driver line-up. CEO Peter Bayer says bringing new drivers into Formula 1 is part of the team's role; team principal Alan Permane will make the decision and announce it when he thinks the time is right.
Bayer described Racing Bulls as playing a leading role in developing young F1 talent. He said the team had helped 22 drivers reach Formula 1, including Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. On Liam Lawson, Bayer said he had done everything to prove himself and described that as the general conclusion in the paddock.
Arvid Lindblad has also impressed in his debut season. F2 driver Nikola Tsolov had taken several wins and stood second in the championship, seven points behind the leader. He drove for Racing Bulls in Friday's first practice in Mexico, his first time in the car; Bayer said the Bulgarian had integrated perfectly into the team.
